Happy Republic Day!

India is celebrating its Republic Day today on January 26, 2012. India got its freedom British colonial rule on August 15, 1947, and published its constitution on January 26, 1950. The day was chosen to commemorate January 26, previously adopted as independence day by the freedom fighters in India.

A grand ceremony will be held at Delhi, capital of India in the morning. Republic day will be celebrated with great enthusiasm at all provincial capitals including Jaipur and district headquarters. The national flag will be kept hoisted at all government buildings, private offices, and residences of common people.
